It was Scout Night, Wed, Mar 15, at the joint meeting of the Noon Team and the Evening Team of Kingston North Kitsap Rotary Club. The meeting was held in the newly renovated Scout Hall.
Kingston North Kitsap Rotary Club Leading Effort to Build
Sports and Recreation Complex to Serve North Kitsap
The multi-use, multi-generational baseball/softball, flag football, soccer, basketball, pickleball, and volleyball complex would be built around outdoor fields and courts, with an indoor facility as well. The vision is an approximately 20-acre complex, for year-round use, to host North Kitsap games and activities, as well as regional tournaments that would bring visitors - and economic impact - to North Kitsap hotels, stores, and restaurants. A secondary goal is this venue would also accommodate not just sports-related activities, but provide a conduit for other uses such as birthday parties, family gatherings, and things like zip lines, a ropes course, frisbee golf, bubble soccer, and team-building activities. The vision is inclusive of public-private opportunity where, potentially, businesses can be brought in to augment not just a sport-only mindset. According to Rotary Lead Clint Boxman, this project would be similar in scope and approach to the building of Village Green Community Center, with multiple grants, stakeholders, and donors. It is entirely possible the land for the complex might be donated.

Kingston North Kitsap Rotary Club offers two meeting options.
The Noon Team, consisting of about 35 Rotarians, meets in-person the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Wednesday at Noon, and at 6:30p the 3rd Wednesday, at Village Green Community Center.
The Evening Team, consisting of about 10 Rotarians, meets in-person once monthly in the evenings at various restaurant locations in the Kingston North Kitsap area. Time and place information is available on Facebook.
