Kingston - The annual summer concert series at the Port of Kingston’s Mike Wallace Park was another big success, according to officials.  The series, a joint effort of the Port of Kingston, Kingston Chamber of Commerce, and the Kingston/North Kitsap Rotary Club, opens the door to see what Kingston’s like, according to Rotary’s Randy Monlux.  Monlux, who chairs Rotary’s beer and wine tent at the concerts, added “a significant number who attend the concerts came from ‘the other side’ this year.” The eight concert series was highlighted this year by Tangerine Dream, a Beatles Impression band and the ever-popular Blues Counselors.
More than 20 Rotarians volunteered their time on Saturday nights to staff the beer and wine tent, as part of Rotary’s contribution to the community.  Kingston/North Kitsap Rotary serves the communities of Hansville, Indianola, and Kingston.  The Club works to improve lives in the community and beyond.  It’s focus is on food for kids, funding to complete Village Green Community Center build-out, and funding a community electronic reader-board.  Meetings occur Wednesday’s at 11:45 am. at Village Green Community Center in Kingston.  Guests are welcome.
