More news and notes.  At their September 28 Noon Team meeting, Rotarians heard the personal story of Rotarian Doug Hallock.  Hallock's career spans the U.S. Navy, Boy Scouts USA, and residential real estate.

Doug was born in Hollywood, CA.  His family moved to Tahoe to run a ski lodge restaurant, putting Doug on skis since age 4.  He graduated high school and joined the Navy as a submariner, where he served in Hawaii for more than three years.  Doug has been involved in Scouting since age 8; he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout at 15.  After naval service he studied business and finance at University of Puget Sound.  Along the way, he caught the real estate bug, purchasing rentals in the Puget Sound area.  Doug was then recruited by Boy Scouts of America into a twelve year management career, much longer than he initially anticipated, but "I just couldn't leave, I loved it so much."  But leave he eventually did, for his current career in residential real estate at Windermere.  Doug moved to Kingston in 1988.  He was a charter member of the Kingston North Kitsap Rotary Club when it was founded in the early-2000's.

Club members are reminded of final summer flower basket removal this Saturday, Oct 1, 9a, gathering behind Mora Ice Cream.  Later, at 10a, there will be a Trails work party, assembling at Village Green Park.
