Kingston North Kitsap Rotary Club recently granted $2k in support of a rural water supply project in Northern Uganda.  One of the top priorities of the project is to repair hand pumps in nine villages.

Additionally, drilling new wells and repairing existing ones is part of the work being done. The Kingston Rotary Club's grant covers costs associated with drilling one well that will provide safe drinking water for a village of approximately 70 people.  Rotarian Tom Carr spearheaded the Club's support.
An organization called Geoscientists Without Borders is the lead, and principal supporter of the project, which has a goal of improving access to safe drinking water for the approximately three-million Acholi speaking people of Northern Uganda.
