New Club Member Nik Epanchin told Kingston North Kitsap Rotarians "his story" at their Noon meeting, 8. Nik hails from a line of Russian descendants, who left Russia during the revolution.
The family arrived in New York in approximately 1951, settling in Sea Cliff on Long Island.
Nik's civil engineering degree from Columbia University would inform a life of travel and a career of working on projects around the world. Much of his career was with Bechtel Corporation. After retiring from Bechtel, he and his wife moved to Mendocino, on the northern California coast. He was a Rotarian there, and worked five years as an EMT. Nik was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2018, but has so far beat that dreaded disease. He moved to Kingston to be closer to his family.
