Thank you life-savers of Kingston for giving at the blood drive last Tuesday.  The time you take out of your day matters and makes a difference in the lives of people in our community.  There were 40 registered donors, which means that 120 lives were impacted by your donations.

A special thank you to the NK Rotary for sponsoring the drive and Kingston Christian Church for accommodating us, and all the volunteers who make these drives possible.

A few facts in case you are wondering if your donation and your continued commitment truly makes the difference in someone’s life:

FACT:  We need to collect nearly 900 donations every day to meet the needs of local patients.  Including trauma, cancer, immune system diseases, surgery, heart disease and transplant patients – just to name a few.   And, to maintain a supply in the event of an emergency or natural disaster.

FACT:  The blood, plasma and platelets your donation provides cannot be created in a lab.  It is only through your volunteer donations that we can provide these lifesaving substances to patients.

FACT:  There is a shelf life to your donation, so the need is constant.  You are eligible to donate every 56 days
