A squad of approximately 20 Kingston North Kitsap Rotarians and community volunteers lowered the Kingston summer color Saturday, Sept 27.

The baskets found their summer homes May 17 with the help of many, including Rotarians David Fortune and Jet Glavin. Tired and legged, they were removed September 27 by community volunteer Diane and Rotarian Stan.
Under the direction of Rotarian Mark Libby, the baskets were removed to Rotarian Bill Beaudoin's home for further work, namely removing the hanging chains from the metal baskets, removing the plants from their plastic containers, and discarding the plants into a trailer.
Heads Down, Butts Up Rotarian Chris Gilbreath (left) soldiered on with one bad knee, handing Bill Beaudoin a discard.

As always, the Kingston North Kitsap Rotary flower baskets going up and coming down would not be possible without Kingston Kiwanian/Honorary Rotarian Dave Wetter and his truck. Here he inspects the trailer hookup. Thanks Dave.

Plans for next year's display are already underway. Program chair Donell Martinez is in talks with Valley Nursery about plants and colors for 2026. How can this year's effort be bettered?
